Giulio Radi Hand-Blown Glass Vase with Murrhines and Gold Foil ca 1950

Evan Lobel

Hand blown blue glass vase with murrhines and gold foil by Giulio Radi for Arte Vetraria Muranese (A.V.E.M.), Murano Italy, circa 1950. Radi's works are beautiful and rare. The gold foil in the glass give it a jewel-like quality.

"Art Glass from Murano 1910-1970" by Marc Heiremans published by Arnoldsche in 1993, page A.VE.M. 11, an archival photo from the XXV Biennale of Venice in 1950 shows 3 vases. The vase on the right is a similar form with identical murrhines.
