Hand-blown red glass vase model 33 with silver foil and murrhines, from the Reazione Policrome Series, A perle (or Leopoardo) by Giulio Radi for Arte Vetraria Muranese or A.V.E.M., Murano Italy, ca 1950. The shape, color and execution are stunning. Radi’s pieces are like jewels.

AVEM Artistic Production 1932-1972 by Marc Heiremans published by Arnoldsche in 2020, pages 48 thru 55 show similar pieces by Radi with the same technique. There is an original drawing by Radi of this piece on page 299.

Provenance:
Evan Lobel purchased this pieces directly from A.V.E.M. in 2001 as part of a large collection of pieces stored there from the 1940’s, 50’s and 60’s.
