Michael Coffey Rare and Important Set of 6 Hand-Carved Stools in Walnut 2007 (Signed)

Evan Lobel

Rare and important set of 6 “Belle of the Ball” stools in hand-carved and sculpted American walnut blocks by Michael Coffey, American 2007 (each is signed "MCoffey" on underside of seat). Each stool is slightly different in design, making each a unique piece. Michael Coffey is a craftsman and an artist who sculpts superb shapes in wood. In the tradition of George Nakashima, Wendell Castle, and Jack Rogers Hopkins, Coffey's handmade, unique works combine the sculptural forms of nature with a deep appreciation for the intrinsic beauty of wood. This incredible set of stools with sculpted seats were designed to be used as dining chairs. The design of the seats and back raised edge makes them very comfortable.
