Jean Besnard Tabletop Torchere In a Crispe Coral Finish 1930s (Signed)
Evan Lobel
Hand-thrown ceramic Art Deco table top torchere in the Crispe coral finish by Jean Besnard, France 1930's (signed "JB" on bottom). The holes in the bottom and side for the wiring and socket show baked internal glazing from the kiln revealing that Besnard intended this wonderful ceramic piece to be used as a lamp. This piece is stunning when the light is both on or off. Newly rewired with a new American socket with new silk cord and line switch.
