Exceptional "Chan" dining table in patinated and engraved bronze and pewter with hand painted colorful enamels by Philip and Kelvin Laverne, 1960's (signed on table top "PHILIP KELVIN LAVERNE"). The beautiful pedestal bases are done in patinated bronze and pewter with rich enamel cloisonne. The coloration and condition are extraordinary. This is a work of art.

Philip and Kelvin LaVerne SCULPTURE III, showroom catalog published in the 1970’s, with a description of the Chan series on page 51: “Renowned as the most colorful and interesting period of the ancient dynasties, the motif depicts a ceremony honoring the Emperor’s son. Peasants bear a gift of sacred scrolls which promise eternal life and happiness to the young prince. Enhanced with natural patinas and delicate beauty, octagonal pedestals of bronze form the base.”
