Large 2-tier "Tao Shelf" table in patinated and engraved bronze and pewter with hand-painted colorful enamels on top by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960's (signed “Philip Kelvin LaVerne” on top). Side tables of this size are rare. The condition and coloration are superb. This is a wonderful example of the art of Philip & Kelvin LaVerne.

Philip and Kelvin LaVerne, SCULPTURE III, catalog published in the 1970’s, page 8 has a photo of this table and in the back of the catalog is the description which states: “A winding wall united architecture and the elements. Hand sculpted of bronze, pewter - enhanced with patinas of subtle beauty. A burnished bronze shelf is supported by four legs of sculpted bronze.”
