Large and rare "Bandiere" vase, hand-blown with multicolor rods all around, by Anzolo Fuga for Arte Vetraria Muranese (A.V.E.M.), Murano Italy, 1955-58.  "Bandiere" means "Flag".  This series was so named because of the way the glass rods laid out before they were blown.

Rosa Barovier-Mentasti, Anzolo Fuga, Murano Glass Artist, Acanthus Press 2005, a general description of the Bandiere Series 1955-58 on page 29 and this piece is shown on page 38.

Provenance:
Evan Lobel purchased these pieces directly from A.V.E.M. in 2001 as part of a large collection of pieces stored there from the 1950’s and 60’s.

Large and important "Bandiere" vase with white and multichrome rods and hole by Anzolo Fuga for Arte Vetraria Muranese (A.V.E.M.), Murano Italy 1950's.  "Bandiere" means "Flag".  This series was so named because of the way the glass rods laid out before they were blown.
