The Collection of Marianna and John Beachdell.  Marianna worked directly with John Dickinson on his commercial line from 1977 until 1981.  This was acquired from the Dickinson showroom in 1980. A Letter of Provenance accompanies this table.

"The Passion", a unique Impressionist painting on patinated and engraved bronze and pewter with blue enamels, intricate design and stepped bronze framing by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1970 (signed “Philip Kelvin LaVerne” in metal with original gallery label on back). The LaVernes were very adept at painting and sculpting the human body. The gallery label on the back is from the Seymour Gallery which was where the LaVernes showed their finest artworks.

ALCHEMY: THE ART OF PHILIP AND KELVIN LAVERNE written by Evan Lobel with Kelvin LaVerne, published by Pointed Leaf Press in 2024, this engraved painting is shown on pages 254-255 in the section titled The Paintings. The caption reads, “THE PASSION, dating from the 1970s, was created in patinated and engraved bronze and pewter with muted enamel cloisonne and a unique pebbled finish. This totally modern work has its roots in the historical painting of The Rebirth of Venus by Alexandre Cabanel from 1863. It is a celebration of female sensuality.”

Philip & Kelvin LaVerne Rare and Important "Symphony" Dining Table 1970s (signed) - SOLD

Rare and important hand-welded and patinated bronze sculpture dining table “Symphony” with glass top by Philip and Kelvin LaVerne, American 1970’s (signed “Philip Kelvin LaVerne”). According to Kelvin LaVerne, only 3 were made. Philip and Kelvin LaVerne often used the arts as their inspiration; and music served as inspiration for several of their works. It was inspired by a symphony by Beethoven. This piece has a physical harmony and balance which is extraordinary. This table is a LaVerne masterpiece. This table can accommodate almost any size glass top.

ALCHEMY: THE ART OF PHILIP AND KELVIN LAVERNE written by Evan Lobel with Kelvin LaVerne, published by Pointed Leaf Press in 2024, this table is shown on pages 192-193 in the section titled The Brazed Series. The caption reads, “The SYMPHONY dining table, hand-brazed in patinated bronze with green patina and a with glass top, was created in the 1970s. The base of this important sculpture was inspired by a curved line drawn by Beethoven on the manuscript for Eroica after he removed its dedication to Napoleon Bonaparte. It was originally dedicated to Napoleon Bonaparte as Beethoven was an admirer until Napoleon declared himself emperor.”

Iconic and rare 4 door credenza model TP 18 with hand-tooled black leather doors and iconic etched brass pulls on ebonized mahogany base by Tommi Parzinger for Charak Modern, American 1940's (signed on back “Charak Modern”). The hand-tooling is done in gold. Pulls have been newly plated, polished and lacquered. Base has been refinished. Leather has been cleaned and polished. This is one of Parzinger’s most stunning designs.

Philip and Kelvin LaVerne Rare and Important "Repose" Coffee Table 1970s (Signed)

Rare and important “Repose” or “Brooding Woman” coffee table with cast bronze female nude on a patinated base with bronze tones, welded cords and glass top by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1970s (signed “Philip Kelvin LaVerne” on base). This work was based on a model who posed for the LaVernes who was having a stressful day. So they captured her emotions for this sculpture. This sculpture was designed with the glass integral to the weightiness of the emotions of the model.
