Rare and important “Bathers” coffee table in patinated bronze and pewter by Philip and Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960s. Signed on top “Kelvin + Philip LaVerne” and original paper label on bottom. This is considered one of the LaVerne’s most striking and important figural designs.


Philip and Kelivn LaVerne Sculpture III catalog, 1960’s, page 11 shows this table.  Back of catalog gives the description: “The Bathers—A continuous flow of hand sculpted bronze forms set into a pewter background.  Buried in earth to attain patinas of natural beauty.”
