Rare “Peony” coffee table, hand-brazed in patinated bronze with a glass top, is by Philip and Kelvin Laverne, American 1970's (signed "Philip Kelvin Laverne" on side of base). The Chinese character, which looks like a flower, shown three times, represents prosperity. The Chinese flower of prosperity is the peony. And three is considered a lucky number in Chinese culture.
