Exceptionally crafted "Kyoto Box" in tessellated penshell with brass inlays on top and trim around base by Karl Springer, American 1980's (signed “Karl Springer Hand Made In Philippines” on bottom of base). These Kyoto Boxes are like jewels. The materials and craftsmanship are simply superb. These were designed so they could be used as side tables.

Stunning one-of-a-kind hinged box in polished blue sodalite stone by Karl Springer, American 1980's (shown with original showroom tag from the 1980’s). Blue sodalite is a rare mineral often used for gem stones. Springer liked to make decorative objects out of rare and beautiful materials. Superbly crafted, this box is an excellent example of his devotion to fine craftsmanship.
