Philip & Kelvin LaVerne Rare Large "Fragonard Pierced" Coffee Table 1967 (Signed and Dated)

Exceptional and important large “Fragonard Pierced" coffee table in patinated and pierced bronze, creating intricate fretwork with enamel cloisonne and gold and copper leaf with an inset glass top, by Philip and Kelvin Laverne, American 1967 (signed “Philip Kelvin LaVerne / 67”). Enamel cloisonne enhances the depth of the colors. This is the largest Fragonard Pierced coffee table done by the LaVernes. All of the negative space was cut out by Kelvin’s hand. This series is one of the most complicated and beautiful of all the LaVerne tables.

The caption reads, “This FRAGONARD PIERCED coffee table was created in 1967 and the year is engraved along with the LaVernes’ signature. This is the largest known example of this series, measureing 60 inches wide, 17 inches high and 36 inches deep. There were always Chinese figures in this series with at least one animal. Here, the figure on the right is holding a bird.”

Beautifully made "Triangular Leg Coffee Table" in 2-tone brown and caramel embossed lizard leather by Karl Springer, American 1993 (original leather label on bottom reads "Karl Springer 1993"). This table is meticulously crafted and a wonderful example of Springer’s devotion to quality in every detail.

Philip and Kelvin LaVerne Rare "Chan" Side Table 1960s (Signed)

Rare "Chan" side table in patinated and engraved bronze and pewter with hand-painted enamels in green, blue, and orange with gold and copper leaf by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960's (signed “Philip + Kelvin LaVerne” on top.) The coloration of this little gem is captivating. This table can be used as a coffee table as well as a side table.

The caption from the LaVerne catalog reads, “Chinese artistry at its peak under the Chan Dynasty is recreated in this intricately carved design. We see peasants carrying a sacred gift to the Emperor’s child. Delicately wrought leaves and figures, combine with a rich variety of multicolored patinas to create the Chinoiserie top. The design is credited as inspiring and evoking French and English periods of furniture design.”

Philip and Kelvin LaVerne "T'ang Boucher" Coffee Table with Superb Coloration 1960s (Signed)

Stunning "T’ang Boucher" coffee table in patinated and engraved bronze and pewter with hand-painted enamels in green, blue, and pink and gold and copper-leaf by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960s (signed “Philip.Kelvin LaVerne” on top with original gallery label on bottom.) The hand-engraved details of the top are intricate and captivating, and the cast French ribbon legs are exquisite. This table is a work of LaVerne art.

Karl Springer Rare and Exceptional Set of 3 "Free Form Coffee Tables" 1980s

Exceptional and early complete set of 3 "Free Form Coffee Tables" in polished stainless steel on hidden casters by Karl Springer, American early-1980’s.  It is rare to see a complete set in polished stainless steel.  These are seamlessly welded and meticulously crafted.  They are considered one of Springer's best designs. Later Springer added thick black glass tops to this series.
