Exceptional pair of floor lamps in high gloss black lacquer with polished brass inlays, base and hardware with original parchment shades by Karl Springer, American 1980's. These lamps have been completely restored - newly lacquered and brass has been polished and lacquered. They have also been rewired. The black lacquer together with polished brass is very chic.

Unique tension floor lamp in torch-cut welded and enameled steel and gold leaf with original pleated fabric shade by Paul Evans Studio, American 1965. Unique large chandelier in patinated and textured bronze with 12 arms each with a globe with crackled glass by Paul Evans, American 1970's. Chandeliers by Paul Evans are rare. The scale of this one makes it incredible. It is Brutalism at its best. It was custom made for the Montefiore Synagogue in Lowell, MA which was built in 1969/70.

Hand blown 6 arm glass chandelier with scavo finish by Seguso (Murano Italy) for Karl Springer, American 1980's. Seguso executed all of Karl Springer’s hand-blown glass pieces and Karl’s preferred finish was scavo which means “dug up” and imitates ancient objects in the form and texture to those found in archaeological excavations. During manufacturing, a mixture of several powders (carbonates nitrates, talc, silica, etc.) is dispersed on the glass surface. Then the object is heated up to 800-Celsius degrees. A stunning work of art.
Lobel Modern Archive has numerous ads published in the 1980’s in Architectural Digest showing this chandelier.
