Patchwork Side Table, model PE-31, in enameled and patinated copper, brass and steel over plywood with an inset cleft slate top by Paul Evans for Directional Furniture, American 1970s. This table is on recessed castors so it can be moved around easily. This is another stunning Paul Evans work of art.

Paul Evans Rare and Important "Wavy Front Cabinet" 1969 (Signed and Dated) - SOLD

Rare and Important large 4 door "Wavy Front Cabinet" in welded, patinated and textured steel with gilt and hand-colored enamels and original slate slab top by Paul Evans, American 1969 (signed and dated on bottom of door, ”Paul Evans 69”). The texturing of the metal doors and the enamel colors are exquisite. Coloration is completely original and in excellent condition. The doors are welded with wavy abstract compositions on both fronts and backs. The interior has 2 drawers covered in felt, each with a beautiful welded and gilded pull. Besides the drawers, there is a red lacquer wash and adjustable shelves. This piece was designed to be paired with Evans Sculptured Metal Dining Table which is currently available in the showroom (photo included). This is the best Wavy Front Cabinet we have seen.

Paul Evans Rare and Important "Argente" 2-Door Cabinet 1968 (Signed and Dated)

Rare and important Argente 2 door cabinet in welded and enameled aluminum with natural cleft slate top by Paul Evans, American 1968 (signed and dated “Paul Evans 68” on bottom of right door). The interior has the original black lacquer wash. His series “Argente,” which is Latin for silver, has become especially prized in recent decades, both for its melding of technology with hand-crafted touches and the rarity of the works. The Argente Series was only in production for a few years (1965-72). This piece is finished superbly on both the exterior and interior.

Paul Evans Set of 6 Rare Sculpted Bronze Dining Chairs 1969 (Signed and Dated) - SOLD

Rare and impressive set of 6 Sculpted Bronze Dining Chairs in bronze resin with upholstered seats by Paul Evans, American 1969 (signed "PE 69" in resin). This design of dining chair is extremely rare and very comfortable. This material was created from a mixture of epoxy resin and sand applied to a plywood or metal base and sculpted into various swirls, drips and other patterns. Once hardened, the finish was sandblasted, sprayed with an atomized bronze finish, varnished, blown with a torch to provide a smoky look, polished, and then varnished again. The resulting work has a metallic sheen but is lightweight compared with something made of cast bronze. Seats have been newly upholstered in a beautiful blue fabric by Lobel Modern.
