Syd Solomon was a noted Abstract Expressionist painter. Beginning in the mid-50's he joined many of the New York School elite, including DeKooning, Alfonso Asssorio, Philip Guston, Conrad Marca-Reilli, Jackson Pollock and others, on Long Island's East End, making the Hamptons a center of Abstract Expressionism. His work is thin the collections of the Met, Guggenheim, Whitney, Smithsonian, Butler and other fine museums.
