Large 2-tier "Tao Shelf" table in patinated and engraved bronze and pewter with hand-painted colorful enamels on top by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960's (signed “Philip Kelvin LaVerne” on top). The condition and coloration are superb. This is a wonderful example of the artisanship of Philip & Kelvin LaVerne.

Philip and Kelvin LaVerne Rare and Important Large "Waves Mirror" 1960s (Signed) - SOLD

Rare and important large "Waves Mirror" in intricately engraved patinated bronze and pewter with hand painted enamels by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960's (signed “P.K. LaVerne” on top and bottom of frame). This mirror retains the original LaVerne gallery label on the back. This scale of this mirror makes it truly impressive. Philip & Kelvin LaVerne were often inspired by nature. This superb mirror exemplifies the time consuming hand-crafting that each piece required: engraving, patinating and then hand-painting. It’s a testament to their devotion to the finest artisanship.

Set of 4 "Regency Armchairs" in polished stainless steel with gold tinted brass back elements and black leather seats by Karl Springer, American 1980’s. The craftsmanship of this set of Regency Armchairs is off the charts. Considered one of Springer’s best chair designs, they are very chic. These are perfect as dining or game chairs.

Rare and important 29 piece studio made set of ceramic plates, serving pieces, and cups by Roy Hamilton, American 1980's (signed and stamped on every piece).  It is rare to find such a large service by Roy Hamilton.

In a NEW YORK TIMES article from 1988 Albert Hadley commented: “In ceramics, the work of Roy Hamilton is certainly expressive of our time, with clean, imaginative shapes and interesting finishes. These objects reflect an appreciation and understanding of quality crafted objects. The classic, quiet things will endure.”

Rare “Chrysanthemum” coffee table, hand-brazed in patinated bronze with a glass top, is by Philip and Kelvin Laverne, American 1970's (signed "Philip Kelvin Laverne" on side of base). There is a lot of thought and intention that went into the design of this beautiful and rare sculpture table (see below).

The caption reads, “ The CHRYSANTHEMUM coffee table, which incorporates the Chinese character for longevity that looks like a flower, in hand-brazed patinated bronze with a glass top, was created in the 1970s. The Chinese flower of longevity is the Chrysanthemum. The character for longevity is shown three times, and three is considered a lucky number in Chinese culture.”
