Large and exceptional hand-blown "Iceberg" vase with opaline glass by Anzolo Fuga for A.V.E.M., Murano Italy, ca. 1968. Pieces from this series are incredibly rare. This was one of the last series that Fuga did at A.V.E.M.

Rare and important "Wave Crest" sculpture in hand-brazed and textured patinated bronze with glass top by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1972 (signed in 2 places). The LaVernes were often inspired by nature and the sea specifically. Kelvin summered on Fire Island and the ocean there inspired this design. The LaVernes’ hand-brazed artworks are rare and noteworthy.

AVEM, Arte Vetraria Muranese, Artistic Production 1932-1972 by Marc Heiremans, published by Arnoldsche in 2020, the drawing for a piece in this series is shown on page 118 along with a photo of that model with the same murrhines.

Provenance:
Evan Lobel purchased these pieces directly from A.V.E.M. in 2001 as part of a large collection of pieces stored there from the 1950’s and 60’s.
