Paul Evans Rare and Important "Argente" 2-Door Cabinet 1969 (Signed and Dated) - SOLD

Rare and important Argente 2 door cabinet in welded and enameled aluminum with natural cleft slate top by Paul Evans, American 1969 (signed and dated “Paul Evans 69” on bottom of right door). The interior has the original red lacquer wash. His series “Argente,” which is Latin for silver, has become especially prized in recent decades, both for its melding of technology with hand-crafted touches and the rarity of the works. The Argente Series was only in production for a few years (1965-72). This piece is finished superbly on both the exterior and interior.

Rare stunning "Square Leg Writing Desk" in gold tinted brass and brushed gunmetal with inset top panels in embossed shagreen leather by Karl Springer, American 1970's. This desk has 3 drawers; center drawer has a pencil holder. Only a handful of these exist. The craftsmanship and finishes are superb.

P.E. Guerin Artisan Desk in Stainless Steel with Brass Accents c. 1950 (signed) - SOLD

Hand-crafted desk in brushed stainless steel with intricate brass pulls and accents with 3 drawers and embossed black leather top by P.E. Guerin, American c.1950 (signed “P.E.G.” on back of pull). It has been authenticated by the workshop. This desk comes with keys. The legs are beautifully fluted. The desk top has been completely restored and the leather newly embossed. P.E. Guerin is a foundry located in NYC making super finely crafted custom metal pieces using skills passed down from the founder which started the company in 1857. This desk is a rare superb jewel.

Rare “Curved Style Desk” in taupe crocodile embossed leather with artisan chrome pulls and 2 pull out trays by Karl Springer, American 1985 (signed and dated on leather label “Karl Springer 1985”). This desk has been completely redone in new embossed crocodile leather by Lobel Modern. The drawers are lined with black moire fabric. The craftsmanship and materials are absoluately superb. If you are looking for the chicest executive desk around, this is it!!!!

Corporation, Berne Indiana” on bottom label) with original D (for Dunbar) key. This beautiful cabinet is designed as a dry bar to hold liquor bottles and glasses but it can be used to hold anything. With these beautiful materials and piano hinged door, the craftsmanship is superb.

Harvey Probber Tall Chest of Drawers in Mahogany and Brass 1950s (Signed)

Beautifully made tall chest of drawers model no 865 in mahogany with brass accents and sliding doors at top concealing pull out shelves by Harvey Probber, American 1950's (signed “Furniture designed by Harvey Probber, Fall River, Massachusetts” on inside of drawer). The pull out drawers on the right are lined with cork. There is a little jewelry drawer on the top of the right side. This piece is beautifully made and the interior is superbly outfitted.

Philip and Kelvin Laverne Rare and Important 4 Door "Fantasia Credenza" 1960s (Signed) - SOLD

Rare and important 4 door "Fantasia Credenza" in patinated and engraved bronze and pewter with abstract design on doors by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960's. Signed on door “Philip + Kelvin LaVerne”. The interior is lacquered and beautifully finished with curving bronze-edged shelves and felt lined drawer. This motif was inspired by music. Very few of these cabinets were made. This is a work of art. Shown with a rare and important Paul Evans mirror.

Paul Evans Sculpted Bronze Wall Unit 1967 (Signed And Dated) - SOLD

Wall unit with 3 pilasters in sculpted bronze resin with smoked glass shelves by Paul Evans, American 1967 (signed "PE 67"). This piece was created from a mixture of epoxy resin and sand applied to a plywood base and sculpted into various swirls, drips and other patterns. Once hardened, the piece was sandblasted, sprayed with an atomized bronze finish, varnished, blown with a torch to provide a smoky look, polished, and then varnished again. The resulting work has a metallic sheen but is lightweight compared with something made of cast bronze. A rare and iconic Paul Evans design.
