Hand-blown glass vase with silver foil and blue and red murrhines, from the Reazione Policrome Series by Giulio Radi for AVEM, Murano Italy, ca 1950. The coloration of this little jewel is superb.

Reference:
AVEM Artistic Production 1932-1972 by Marc Heiremans published by Arnoldsche in 2020, pages 48 through 55 show similar pieces by Giulio Radi with the same technique.

Provenance:
Evan Lobel purchased this piece directly from A.V.E.M. in 2001 as part of a large collection of original works stored there from the 1940’s, 1950’s and 60’s.

Adjustable screws at top and bottom allow the lamp to stand up using the tension between the floor and ceiling. This piece exemplifies the exceptional artisanship and ingenuity of Paul Evans.

Kelvin LaVerne Rare and Important "Giacometti's Soul" Sculpture 1980s (Signed)

Rare and exceptional cast sculpture "Giacometti's Soul" in bronze with hand-painted enamels on a patinated bronze base by Kelvin LaVerne, American late 1980's (Engraved signature on side of base reads “PK LaVerne”). This sculpture was typically free standing - this is the only example mounted on a base which gives it a sense of grandeur.

"Horses Plaque" in patinated and engraved bronze and pewter with red and orange enamel cloisonne horses by Philip and Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960's (signed “Philip Kelvin LaVerne” on front). The background of this work is patinated pewter and the piece is trimmed in patinated bronze. This series was typically done with horses in green, blue and yellow. The unique coloration in this work makes it a rare variation.

Unique large chandelier in patinated and textured bronze with 12 arms each with a globe with crackled glass by Paul Evans, American 1970's. Chandeliers by Paul Evans are rare. The scale of this one makes it incredible. It is Brutalism at its best. It was custom made for the Montefiore Synagogue in Lowell, MA which was built in 1969/70.

Philip & Kelvin LaVerne "Persephone Enslaved" Sculpture Coffee Table 1970s (Signed) - SOLD

Rare and Important “Persephone Enslaved” cast sculpture in patinated bronze with green patina and welded chain elements on a patinated bronze base with custom glass top by Philip and Kelvin Laverne, American 1970's (signed “Philip K LaVerne” on base).  The LaVernes were often inspired by Greek mytholoday. The myth of Persephone was one of Kelvin’s favorites. Cast sculptures were only done for a few years in the early 1970’s as they were laborious and expensive to produce.

Rare and exquisite "Tao" Tea Table in patinated and engraved bronze and pewter with subtle hand-painted enamels in blue and pink with gold and copper leaf by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960's (engraved “Philip Kelvin LaVerne” on side). The engraved scene on top is based on an ancient Chinese painting which explored the relationship between man and his surroundings. LaVerne Tea Tables are rare and highly sought after.
