The engraved Chinese figures are exquisite, and the enamel cloisonne adds beautiful depth to the colors. Back is finished in patinated bronze.

Pair of beautifully crafted bedside tables in lacquered barkwood, each with a drawer, by Karl Springer, American 1986 (signed and dated “Karl Springer 1986” with leather label on bottom). The subtle coloration of the barkwood is magnificent. According to the artisan who made these for Karl Springer, in the mid-1980’s Karl Springer experimented with barkwood - a veneer with beautiful figuration not unlike goatskin. These pieces are rare.

Large "Tower of Babel" painting in patinated and engraved bronze and pewter with enamel cloisonne and special framing by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, 1960's (signed “Philip Kelvin LaVerne” on front right). This was done as part of a special Collectors Edition with Kuan (interlocking circles) framing. The Kuan motif is meant to evoke something from the past. Enamel cloisonne enhances the depth of the colors.

"Rhapsody #1", a vibrant Abstract Expressionist painting in patinated and engraved bronze and pewter with enamel cloisonne with hand-brazed sculptured frame by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1972 (signed “Philip K. The LaVernes did several works based on music.

The LaVernes loved nature and did several works with floral subject matter. This table, from the Historical Civilization Series, is very elegant.
