Spectacular 4-door credenza in exotic paldao wood with hand-sculpted pulls, concave doors, pull out trays and gently curving base finished in leather with studs by Gilbert Rohde for Herman Miller, Paldao Collection, American 1940s. Behind the four curving doors are drawers at center and left side with a shelf in the right compartment. Along the top of the credenza’s front are three pull-out serving trays. This is one of the most superb Gilbert Rohde designs within the iconic Paldao Group Collection. Each detail is refined. Newly refinished by Lobel Modern.

Unique and large "Hellenic" coffee table in patinated and engraved bronze and pewter with hand-painted enamels by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1970's (signed “Philip + Kelvin LaVerne” on top). The size of this table makes it a marvel. Very few were made to this scale. Each side of the table has an engraved figural motif set against the pewter background.

Philip and Kelvin LaVerne Rare "Fragonard Pierced" Coffee Table 1960s (Signed)

Impressive and rare “Fragonard Pierced” Coffee Table in patinated, engraved and pierced bronze and pewter, intricately cut with enamel cloisonne and gold and copper leaf with an inset glass top, by Philip and Kelvin Laverne, American 1960’s (signed “Kelvin Philip LaVerne” on front). The table top was cut entirely by Kelvin Laverne’s hand, and its delicate fretwork is mesmerizing. This series always included Chinese figures with at least one animal. This one features two birds and two horses. An inset glass top is part of the design. It’s a masterpiece of artisanship.

The pierced bronze tabletops were cut by Kelvin’s hand. This process was time-consuming, very delicate and often with hand-applied gold and copper leaf over the competed floral filigree. The tops of this series always contain Asian figures and at least one animal colored with enamel cloisonne that added depth.”

Iconic "Chan" coffee table with Chinese motif in patinated and engraved bronze and pewter with hand-painted enamels in green, blue, and orange with gold and copper leaf on a bronze tristar base by Philip and Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960s (signed “Philip Kelvin LaVerne” on top). The coloration of this table is superb. The Chan coffee table was typically made with a traditional octagonal base. This rare variation by the artists has a modern base which gives the table an airy, timeless feeling.
