There are partial Greek figures engraved on both the left and right sides of this work. As Kelvin LaVerne states in regards to this piece, “We wanted to evoke the feeling of an archeological find, a piece of something perhaps broken and shaped by time, capturing time past: history.” This work is unique.

Both Philip and Kelvin were highly skilled sculptors and painters, both fluent in Impressionism and Abstract Expressionism. They were able to use bronze and pewter uniquely as their preferred media. This design incorporates the Kuan (interlocking circles) motif which is supposed to evoke something from the past. It’s a beautiful work of art.

“The relaxed position of the floral motif, combined with the soft contoured lines of the background, suggest the delicate precise Chinoiseries décor that inspired the rich designs of the 18th century. Timeless beauty held forever in bronze and pewter.”
