Rare and Important “K'ang Hsi” extension table in engraved and patinated pewter and bronze with hand-painted enamel colors by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960s (signed on both leaves and center section, “Philip & Kelvin LaVerne”). There are 4 symbols on the leaves which represent good luck, prosperity, longevity, and happiness. According to Kelvin LaVerne, very few of these were made. It is a tour de force of design and incorporates the finest artistic talents of Philip & Kelvin LaVerne.

"A magnificent sculptured dining room table in bronze and pewter, enhanced with patina and opulent enamel colorings. A patented mechanism process utilizes concealed leaves which are retractable at a slight touch, extending the surface for entertaining in grand style. The Oriental design is comprised of separate vignettes that describe joyous ceremonies. The base is a sculptured bronze pedestal.”
