Pair of hand-blown glass pendants with multicolor murrhines and silver foil by Anzolo Fuga for Arte Vetraria Muranese (A.V.E.M.), Murano Italy, 1950's. These pendants have been fully rewired and affixed with a new brass chain, adjustable to your preferred length.

AVEM Arte Vetraria Muranese, Artistic Production 1932-1972 by Marc Heiremans, Arnoldsche Press in 2020, shows an archival photo on page 222 of a floor lamp with a similar glass shade in the same technique with murrhines and silver foil.

Karl Springer Rare Pair of "Chinese Cube Style Tables" 1980s - SOLD

Rare pair of "Chinese Cube Style Tables" in artisan faux goatskin lacquer by Karl Springer, American 1980's. The size of these tables makes them ideal as side tables, bedside tables or coffee tables. Every edge of these tables is hand made as they are curved and contoured. As with all Karl Springer pieces, the lacquer work is superb.

Philip and Kelvin LaVerne Pair of Stunning "Galatea" Bronze Table Lamps 1970s (Signed) - SOLD

Pair of rare and unique Galatea Table Lamps with cast female nude sculptures set on patinated bronze bases by Philip and Kelvin LaVerne, American 1970's (signed “P.K. LaVerne” on back of each base, as well as “Philip Kelvin LaVerne” on one of the sculptures’ legs). The female figures are based on the myth of Pygmalion, a sculptor who makes an ivory statue representing his ideal woman and then falls in love with his own creation, which he names Galatea; the goddess Venus brings the statue to life in answer to his prayer. The LaVernes did a number of enchanting artworks based on mythology. These lamps are absolutely stunning. They have been rewired with new sockets and silk cords.

Reference:
ALCHEMY: THE ART OF PHILIP AND KELVIN LAVERNE written by Evan Lobel with Kelvin LaVerne, published by Pointed Leaf Press in 2024, these lamps are shown on pages 170-171 in the section titled The Cast Series. The caption reads, “The 1970s GALATEA lamps include cast patinated bronze figures on patinated bronze bases. The beautiful curves of the bases complement the cast female figures perfectly. The LaVernes did several works about the myth of Pygmalion and Galatea.”

Pair of exceptional solid "Oval Lucite Table Lamps" with satin bronze trim, hardware and seamlessly welded shades with embedded invisible cords by Karl Springer, American 1980s. There is a channel on the side of each lamp where the cords are embedded; the curvature of the lamps creates an optical illusion whereby the cords are invisible. The craftsmanship of these lamps is absolutely superb.
