Large "Tower of Babel" painting in patinated and engraved bronze and pewter with enamel cloisonne and special framing by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, 1960's (signed “Philip Kelvin LaVerne” on front right). This was done as part of a special Collectors Edition with Kuan (interlocking circles) framing. The Kuan motif is meant to evoke something from the past. Enamel cloisonne enhances the depth of the colors.

"Rhapsody #1", a vibrant Abstract Expressionist painting in patinated and engraved bronze and pewter with enamel cloisonne with hand-brazed sculptured frame by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1972 (signed “Philip K. LaVerne” in metal with original gallery labels on back). The unique engraved frame adds dynamism to this work. This piece was originally made for an art show (see label on back). The LaVernes did several works based on music.

The coloration of the enamels on top of the captivating repeating nature motif is superb. This is one of the most sought after designs by the LaVernes.

The coloration on this table is absolutely magnificent and pristine. This is an iconic Philip and Kelvin LaVerne work of art.

Beautiful "Dogwood Floral" coffee table in patinated and engraved bronze and pewter with hand-painted enamels in blue, green, yellow, and red by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960's (signed “Philip Kelvin LaVerne” on top.) The LaVernes loved nature and did several works with floral subject matter. This table, from the Historical Civilization Series, is very elegant.

Sculpture, Bronze and Pewter Tables, The Art of Philip LaVerne catalog published in the 1960’s, on page 7 is a photograph of this model table with the title “Dogwood Floral”. In the back of the catalog is a description which reads, “DOGWOOD FLORAL: Three seperate bronzes inlaid by hand create one solid background of magnificent light and dark golden brown bronzes. The design is the delightful 18th century Dogwood Floral of France, which moves softly along with this sculptured shape. The French Chinoi leg is of carved bronze.”

Exceptional and early complete set of 3 "Free Form Coffee Tables" in polished stainless steel on hidden casters by Karl Springer, American early-1980’s.  It is rare to see a complete set in polished stainless steel.  These are seamlessly welded and meticulously crafted.  They are considered one of Springer's best designs. Later Springer added thick black glass tops to this series.

Philip and Kelvin LaVerne Rare and Important "Tao Cabinet" 1970s (Signed) - SOLD

Rare and important large 4 door "Tao Cabinet" in patinated bronze and pewter with continuous engraved Chinese scene, hand-painted with vibrant enamels in green, blue, and orange, with a hand-chased bronze plinth base by Philip and Kelvin LaVerne, American 1970's (signed “Philip + Kelvin LaVerne” on front). This piece retains its original gallery label on the back which is hand-signed by Philip LaVerne. There is intricate fretwork on the drawers, the interior is impeccably finished with hand-painted malachite lacquer, and the drawers and shelves are trimmed in bronze. Drawers are lined with felt. This is the largest and most impressive of the LaVernes’ cabinets. The Tao philosophy was primarily concerned with the importance of man in relation to his surroundings and architecture. The top and sides are engraved with the Kuan— interlocking circles—design which is meant to evoke something from the past.

Hand-blown glass vase from the Murrine Incatenate Series in opaline glass with red and yellow murrhines and light blue rods by Anzolo Fuga for Arte Vetraria Muranese (A.V.E.M.) Murano Italy, 1959-60. Fuga created unique works of art that are timeless and captivating.

Rare and exceptional "Hexagonal Jansen Style Table" in polished gunmetal and brass with thick glass top by Karl Springer, American 1980's. The meticulous craftsmanship and beautiful materials are the hallmarks of Karl Springer’s designs. This table can be used as a dining table with a large glass top (as shown) or a center table with a top fitted to the base. It is very versatile and was designed to be such. The metal has been completely restored and the table is in excellent condition. We will fabricate a new glass top to spec for the purchaser. It can take a larger glass top if desired.
