Stunning Italian Credenza with Fontana Arte Glass Elements 1950s

Beautifully crafted credenza in Italian walnut with vertical glass slab supports and glass handles by Fontana Arte on the bookmatched burl doors with brass accents, Italian 1950's. There is antique mirror trim around the doors. This piece is absolutely stunning and would be a show stopper in any interior.

Fontana Arte: Gio Ponti, Pietro Chiesa, Max Ingrand by Franco Deboni and published by Allemandi & C. in 2012, there is glass shown with similar attributed to the pulls shown in plate 314, which states the light "made of two thick sheets of profiled and cut glass, with satin finish central parts, c.1960."

Philip and Kelvin LaVerne Important Engraved "Waves" Mirror 1960s (Signed) - SOLD

Large and rare wall hanging mirror with frame in patinated bronze and pewter with corners engraved with “Waves” motif, with hand-painted enamels in blue, green, and orange, by Philip and Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960's (signed “Philip Kelvin LaVerne” on front). The Waves motif, based on the sea, is one of the most intricate.

Philip and Kelvin LaVerne Engraved "Creation of Man" Coffee Table 1960s (Signed) - SOLD

"The Creation of Man,” a coffee table in patinated bronze and pewter with engraved tribute to the iconic painting by Michelangelo in the Sistine Chapel with hand-painted enamels by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1960's (signed “Phillip-Kelvin LaVerne after Michelangelo” on top). This is an early LaVerne work. The relief set against patinated bronze is simply magnificent.

Anzolo Fuga Exquisite Hand-Blown Glass Cat with Fish Bones Inside 1950s

Evan Lobel

Rare and important hand-blown glass cat with fish bones shown in its stomach by Anzolo Fuga for Arte Vetraria Muranese (A.V.E.M.) Murano Italy 1950’s. This work has an acid finish except where the glass is cut away in the front to reveal the fish bones. Fuga created unique and highly creative works for A.V.E.M. during his time there. This cat exemplifies his superb creativity and the fine artisanship of the glass blowers there.

Philip and Kelvin LaVerne Arabesque Sculpture in Bronze 1970s (Signed)

Unique cast and patinated bronze sculpture of a woman's torso in an arabesque pose on a black lacquer wood base by Philip & Kelvin LaVerne, American 1970's (signed “PK LaVerne” on back of leg). The human form is one of the hardest to sculpt and cast. This work is inspired by dance and ballet. The LaVernes took an interest in all art forms and enjoyed sculpting the human body. It’s a stunning piece.

Karl Springer "Mark II Coffee Table" in Embossed Lizard Leather 1994 (Signed & Dated)

Stunning "Mark II Coffee Table" in midnight blue lacquered embossed lizard leather with inset polished chrome trim and smoke glass top by Karl Springer, American 1994 (Signed “Karl Springer 1994” on bottom). This table is incredibly chic. The materials and craftsmanship are remarkable. The Springer showroom closed in 1993 and any open orders were completed in 1994. This is the last year that Karl Springer pieces were made.

Philip and Kelvin LaVerne Rare "Persephone Enslaved" Sculpture Coffee Table 1970s (Signed) - SOLD

Important and rare “Persephone Enslaved” cast sculpture in patinated bronze with green patina and hand-painted enamels in green and blue with welded chain elements on a patinated bronze base with customized thick glass top by Philip and Kelvin Laverne, American 1970's (signed “Philip LaVerne” on base).  The form of the welded chains and the fantastic sense of the figure’s movement make this table dynamic. Cast sculptures by the LaVernes were only done in small editions for a few years in the early 1970’s as they were laborious and expensive to produce.
